The Crowd-funding Campaign for the First Energy Community in Sofia is Officially Closed!

Dear friends, colleagues and supporters,

It is a pleasure for us to annouce that the necessary investment for the first energy community in Sofia is collected and the crowd-funding campaign is officilly closed. It took only a month to provide the sum for the PV installation on the roof of the school building.

This is a result of the great efforts of the local Vitosha municipality administration, as well as the supporting organization of SOFENA and BACC. The planned time for this campaign was 2 months, but the fact that it was done within a month shows the great interest among citizens and people in energy communities, although we continue to have a lot of legislative gaps and energy market imperfections.

What is next? During the week we will register the first energy community in Sofia. It will be the seventh in the country. The founding meeting of the community members will be organized In December. The installation of the PV panels is expected to start in the beginning of the new 2026 year.

So the most interesting activities is yet to come!
